Coffee and Caffeine FAQ

I recently went to Italy and bought some coffee to being back for some friends. However i believe the coffee is meant for an Italian Moka machine. I asked the woman in the shop if it can be used in Amercan drip coffee machines but she didnt speak or understand much engligh and just replied yes. But now some one has told me that it can't! Is this true? Can the grinds meant for a moka machine not be used in the american drip coffee machines? I dont know anytihng about coffee so i wanted to find out if they could use it here in the US before i gave it to them.
