Caffeine Content

Does brewing, roasting, freshness, or temperature affect (by either raising or lowering) caffeine content?

I just asked the same question to a company, where I bought a fair amount of caffeine for sports-drinks.
They produced the stuff themselfes and they told me that they kept most of the process synthetic, because high temperatures could create and oxidation with coffee beans etc. so they kept a really close eye on the production.
